Parkstone

The residential belt between Poole and the beaches, holding Ashley Cross, Poole Park's eastern edge and a long run of Victorian streets.

Parkstone is the residential middle of Poole, running from the harbour shore up and inland, and it is where a lot of the town actually lives.

Ashley Cross

Lower Parkstone holds Ashley Cross, the green ringed with independent bars and restaurants that is Poole's year-round going-out spot.

Green space and water

Poole Park sits on its western edge, with the saltwater boating lake and miniature railway. The harbour shoreline path runs along the bottom of the area.

Getting about

Parkstone has its own railway station on the Waterloo line, and buses run to the town centre and out to the beaches.

Staying here

Quieter and better value than the waterfront, with Sandbanks a short ride away. See accommodation.
